Sod is perishable: schedule delivery so rolls are installed within 24–48 hours of harvest.
Lay rolls in a brick-joint pattern and butt seams tightly; the waste allowance covers the trim-off.
Measure at the longest and widest points, then subtract islands with the cut-out shapes.
Standard small roll is 2 ft × 5 ft = 10 sq ft; big rolls run 2 ft × 8 ft = 16 sq ft.
